The inspired collaboration between Snarky Puppy guitarist Mark Lettieri and the virtuosic Indian sitar master Purbayan Chatterjee comes to the Miner Auditorium stage for one night, highlighting their shared spirit of exploration, improvisational telepathy, and quicksilver dexterity. They bring a night of spirited musical dialog, performing compositions from their 2026 GroundUP Music debut, Feathered Creatures, and more than a few surprises.

Mark Lettieri, renowned for his work with Snarky Puppy and The Fearless Flyers, has become one of contemporary instrumental music’s most inventive guitar voices. Raised in the Bay Area and seasoned in the Dallas music scene, Lettieri developed a style that merges funk precision, jazz sophistication, and rock intensity. A multi-GRAMMY winner with Snarky Puppy and a GRAMMY nominee for his solo release Deep: The Baritone Sessions, Vol. 2, he is celebrated for groove-driven compositions and fearless improvisation.

Purbayan Chatterjee stands among India’s foremost sitar maestros, carrying forward the Senia Maihar gharana tradition while expanding it into contemporary global music. Trained by legendary masters and honored with the Rashtrapati Award as a teenage prodigy, Chatterjee has built an international reputation through dazzling technique, emotional depth, and cross-cultural collaborations, as on his all-star 2021 album Unbounded featuring the late Zakir Hussain, drummer Antonio Sánchez, and Snarky Puppy leader Michael League.

Lettieri and Chatterjee’s new album Feathered Creatures promises a vivid meeting of rhythmic fire, lyrical beauty, and boundary-defying musical conversation.
